Some we have not been able to locate (please call us if you have contact or status information on these artists), and sadly, many have passed on. Fred Bartenstein is writing a short biography on each of the artists on this list, posting one or two new bios per week. He is beginning with Bill Monroe and other artists in the IBMA Bluegrass Hall of Fame, continuing in alphabetical order from there on. We invite you to visit our website weekly to read each of these fascinating biographies.

最優先課題の一つとして当館は、ブルーグラス・ミュージックのパイオニア時代を築き上げたミュージシャン達の足跡を探し出し、称え、保存することを行っています。ブルーグラスとしてのジャンルを作り出し完成させ、世に広く知らしめた、これらパイオニア達が、結果的にブルーグラスのファンを世界中に広めました。同様に優先度の高い課題としては、彼らの足跡、演奏スタイルを記録し、当館が末永く彼らのライフスタイルや芸術性を伝えるために、パイオニア達の所持品やコレクションを蒐集することです。

この目的を遂げるため、当館は２００３年にVideo Oral History Project（ビデオ音響歴史プロジェクト）をスタートさせました。プロのカメラマン達を全国に派遣しパイオニア達の家庭を訪問して、インタビューの専門家により長老達の足跡や逸話を聞きだし、録画しています。今日迄に当館としてブルーグラスのパイオニアと呼ぶ、１７２人をインタビューし、録画しました。

ブルーグラス第一世代の逸話、遺品・記念品及びレコーディングを、当館は常に探しています。各々がブルーグラス・ミュージックの形成に貢献した、偉人達の人柄を知ってもらうために、それらが大きな役割を果たします。もし貴方が話しても良い逸話を知っている、当館に寄贈出来る品をお持ち、又は当館がこのプロジェクトを完成させる援助として金銭的寄付をして下さりたい場合は、どうぞ館長のGabrielle Gray宛メールを下さるか、当館宛お電話下さい（270-926-7891）。
