Visit Us

Step back in time as you listen to original recordings of bluegrass artists and watch as bluegrass legends talk and perform on video. Learn about the lives, stories and careers of the legendary musicians who made bluegrass famous as you watch documentaries created through this museum's Video Oral History Project. These documentaries capture first and early second generation bluegrass artists as they recount their stories, struggles, and successes through the burgeoning time period of the 1940s and 50s all the way to the present day. Many also include musical footage or a recorded concert.  Peruse interactive displays featuring photographs, music, and memorabilia from the founding fathers of this unique, enduring genre of music.

Please be certain to plan a visit to the Museum during the Bill Monroe Centennial Celebration beginning June 23, 2010 and continuing through September 14, 2012.

The Museum will be closed during January and February of 2012
