The Archives

June 2006

Two major exhibits opened at ROMP 2006

“Part III, Early Festival Photographs.” This is photographer Ron Petronko’s second exhibit at the museum. The first, a collection of early festival photos was premiered at ROMP 2005.. We look forward to Part III of this three-year exhibit. Ron has graciously donated the photographs in these exhibits to the museum’s permanent collection.

“The History of Bluegrass in Europe and Japan.” Performing artists, historians, and folklorists from Japan and Europe were at ROMP 2006 to provide personal accounts of how bluegrass music first gained a foothold in their respective countries, then became enormously popular. This first-ever exhibit will continue over a two-year period.
